I am Dominique, originally from France. I have been living in the Washington, D.C. area for over thirty years. Since I was young, I have always been surrounded by animals, and I raised my two daughters the same way. From Cochise the horse… to Douchka the German Shepherd, who was the girls’ nanny (just kidding, but not really)… to Tanya the ferret (we thought it was a girl, but it turned out to be a boy who ended up with a girl’s name)… to Tiger the cat, who wanted to be a dog when he grew up, animals have always been a huge part of my life.

I am a lab addict, and have been living with those wonderful dogs for a very long time. I grew up with them, learned with them and from them, and still do.
From my heart dog, Zeus, who was crippled with arthritis to Sophie’s rehab after TPLO surgery, to Lola’s and Jackson’s love for retrieving, swimming was the answer. Yes, rivers and lakes are fun, but after a bad encounter between Lola and a beaver, we decided to move to safer grounds.

Unfortunately there was no pool nearby so I started taking them every week to a pool in Virginia. Lot of driving and time on the road but it was worth it: nothing more rewarding than seeing my pack happy, healthier and stronger.

This is when I started thinking about opening a K9 pool. It took a long of time, but here we are now, ready to welcome our K9 swimmers!
